The proven Wally hallmarks and Frers Naval Architecture have produced a megayacht boasting all the amenities of a round-the-world cruiser, yet capable of extraordinary performance.
"The new KAURIS IV has been created for a distinguished, knowledgeable person who really enjoys sailing a sensitive, well balanced, pleasant and fast yacht, not only while cruising with his family but also, and most importantly, while racing around the cans," designer German Frers emphasized.
Extensive research aimed at the best performance for the lightest weight, a very sophisticated sail handling system, and liveable elegant decks and interiors.
The KAURIS IV is currently under construction in Persico Marine's new shipyard for advanced composite megacruisers set up in Massa Carrara, Italy, in conjunction with its recent strategic partnership with Wally.
"We are sure that this megayacht will raise the bar of the yachting industry and be the start of a successful venture," stated Marcello Persico, CEO of Persico Marine.
The KAURIS IV launch date is scheduled for May 2019.
The KAURIS IV hybrid propulsion system has unique advantages:
The DC bus and lithium batteries provide a full night's autonomy in silent mode with the air-conditioning running.
Bow and stern thrusters with electric engines connected to twin retractable shafts allow for manoeuvring the yacht emission free and in complete silence.
Under full power, the KAURIS IV can reach an exceptional cruising speed of 15 knots.
With a sail area/displacement ratio much higher than any other megayacht of the category, KAURIS IV is fast, even in just 6 knots of wind.
The yacht is very stable in strong winds, thanks to the hull shape and the lifting keel.
The fast megacruiser features an innovative deck layout that is a further development of the Wally outside-inside living concept first introduced in 1998 with Tiketitan.
The main saloon and two cockpits (one covered) are amidships on the same level with no steps in between, creating a roomy and sociable living space.
The spacious luxurious interiors, developed by Wally with Droulers Architecture and Studio Mario Sculli, include a large owners' area with two queen-size beds, his and hers en-suites (one with a bathtub), an office and double walk-in wardrobes.
Up to six guests can be accommodated in two twin-bed cabins and one pullman cabin.
The saloon seats 8-10 guests and hosts a navigation station on the forward starboard side.
The service and crew area has a galley and crew mess and four crew double en-suite cabins
